From the moment we entered 174 Needlerush Drive I was in awe of the reclaimed barn wood floors, the shiplap walls and ceilings, and the layout of this true craftsman home in Watercolor Florida. ;
Chef Selling Real Estate On 30A
I began working in culinary as a Personal Chef in 2010, with very little formal training and a certificate from an online academy, which I care not to mention. I cooked for several high-end clients in the Miami area until I decided that a “formal education” was something that I needed. I enrolled at Johnson & Wales University and quickly graduated with an Associate in Culinary Arts.
In the culinary world, much like in any career, I soon discovered that there are ZERO shortcuts. This is the part of my life that I began to “mature”, which my wife would snicker at.
I realized that no matter the education that you receive or University that you attend, that success comes through many hours experience, research and a great deal of obsession. I put my Personal Chef business on the back burner and started working at several restaurants in order to sharpen my skills. I learned life lessons in a very short amount of time as a cook.
The restaurant world is sink or swim, there is nothing in between. I found out that spending many hours each night in a kitchen without engaging in conversation wasn’t what I wanted to do…this is where I started sinking.
I started to focus on the things in life that would allow me to be the best me. I always have had an outgoing personality and sales seemed to allow my personality to shine through. It became apparent that my career outlook was gravitating towards sales, a profession that both sides of my family were involved in for many generations. I made the decision to become a Realtor®.
Shortly after moving to the Emerald Coast, I got my real estate license and hit the ground running. I have enjoyed every moment of it since, the GREAT and the not so great! And as the saying goes, “Do what you love and you’ll never work another day in your life!” I believe there is more to that fairytale statement. Through the learning process of Life, I have found out that compartmentalizing what you’re good at and what you’re passionate about must coincide with one another. Cheers!
